As everything he does, this is pretty good

OC with a sand quirk and a drive gets into UA
It's written fairly well with only the occasional typo and I'm excited to see where it goes beyond this point.
Everyone seems to be in character, except for minetta who just seems to be missing(thank God hate that guy.) For sure worth it
Spoilers beyond this point
Pretty sure the oc has some form of autism, or is an actual sociopath. He has a very logical mindset without coming across as "super cool and logical and for sure not a Gary Stu guys I don't even know where you are getting that."
He has a very cool power set without seeming super op. Sand is always a winner.
I love the uncle and aunt dynamic. It feels very well though out, as do all of the interactions.

Favorite bnha fanfic ever

I have found this work to be my favorite of all the assorted fanfiction I have read over the years. My previous favorite was Yesterday Upon The Stair, but this one beat it for the quality of pacing and the unique character of the protagonist. Both excelled in portraying a central theme with astounding proficiency, but Just Deserts has taken the lead for it's ability to follow canon without simply repeating it. The choices to add other schools to the sports festival and to take canon arcs and display them from a completely different view was a breath of fresh air in an over saturated fandom that mostly feels like a checklist of events to show off how cool and badass the latest version of Izuku is. Overall, I really liked this fic.

perfect story. i haven’t even finished watching the anime after having started it 5+ years ago, but i finished this in 3 days. it’s truly amazing. hisoka reminds me of Super Minion’s MC quite a bit in that he struggles to identify emotions in himself and others at first but gradually improves. amazing job in so many areas; character development, pacing, creative and logical use of power, everything.
if you do ever decide to continue this story with that potential second canon event i’ll be here in a heartbeat. great job!!

I want more!

This is by far one the best thing I have read here.
I thought the intrigue meshed incredibly well with the existing universe of MHA and added to hit it.
It is a shame it is over. While it is true that the mc as completed is personal quest there are still unexplored open doors that involve the bigger plot of MHA canon and played a role in the the mc's quest.
In the end it still manages to finish on a satisfiying note, but I am left hungry for more.

Fantastic MHA fanfic

I loved this story. The author had good pacing, a well rounded cast of characters, isn't afraid to diverge from canon when it improves the story, and maintains enough distance from Midoriya that you never feel like you are just rehashing the original story. It is definitely my favorite MHA fanfic of all time. If you don't mind a neurodivergent MC (I personally enjoy them) this is for you.

Satisfactory.

The story was long, yet engaging at every step. While the writing style did have the unfortunate weakness of tempting me into skipping parts of paragraphs, that might just be my own impatience getting the better of me. The story finished on a wonderful note, and I find myself eager for more, even though I know this is where his story ends for us readers.

Best MHA Fanfic I've read

The main character is fascinating to follow, with his unhinged personality and motivation, make a really interesting story to follow. Some of the most captivating monologe I've ever read from the mc as well, makes it so I had a hard time putting it down once I began.
The fact that the story have significant differences from canon also make the story unpredictable, a bold decision to which I give my highest praise for. Even if you arn't a fan of MHA you can enjoy the story, maybe even if you've never seen the show before.

Great Unique MC

I have read hundreds of novels on this site and this book is the one that finally got me to create an account and leave a review.
First of all i gave this novel 5 stars not because it is perfect, but because it absolutely blew my expectations out of the water and is one of the best novels on this site (probably deserves a top 50).
The story is about a boy with an extremely strong sand quirk, that enrolles into the hero academia in order to unravel an unsolved crime that threw his live of track. You don't really need MHA knowledge to enjoy the story and it has a way darker start than the show.
The strong point of the story is definetly the MC. Most MCs on this site are either Mary sues or basically murderhobos this MC is neither. He is a (maybe) autistic boy who struggles with recognizing his own emotions and is lacking in the empathy department but he still tries to do good. He walks a racer thin line between doing good and bad and you'll constantly be wondering if the next crisis finally forces him over the edge and turn him into a monster or push him to become the hero his friends see him as.
Also the novel sometimes focuses on the bad side effects a world with superpowers can have, like mobbing or quirks that ruin lives. It is not a major theme but i still enjoyed it when it came up.
Now the bad:
First: If you are not a MHA super fan (which i am not) then you will be struggling with the names in the begining as there are a lot of japanese names that can be hard to memorise.
Second: The author spends a lot of time explaining the thoughts of the mc, sometimes to much. So sometimes the story drags on, or you can skim past the mc's thoughts.
All in all it is a great story, with a great non gray and white mc and an engaging crime/ mystery side plot.

A solid and pretty unique take on mha universe

I am a harsh reviewer (mainly for the overall score). I treat 2.5 as average and a 5 as a near-impossible feat to reach. 3.5 essentially means I consider it worth the read. My overall score is mainly based on the story with a bit of character mixed in.
Story - I really enjoyed the story. It seemed pretty well thought out and the mystery clearly had thought put behind it. It was VERY solid. The mystery also had enough set up that it did not feel like it was coming out of left field or anything. Instead, it all made sense and we had enough clues to guess what was going on. I though did get a bit bored by the end of the story, having already figured out what was happening. I feel like there story could have used a for more scenes unrelated to the mystery to help give more breaks between the info. It was still really well written.
Character - I absolutely loved the mc. It is rare that I find such a good autistic mc. He was done perfectly
Style and Grammar - honestly, I don't really judge these unless they are bad. I did not see any major issues so I give it a 5-star here. I mainly just care about overall, story, and character.

Best fanfic i have seen so far. But I still want to read what happens next I mean all for one has yet to be dealt with. And exploration of MCs upgraded quirk has yet be done and I like to see more. It fills author left it unfinished. Though I loved this novel all the same.
