A sweet little story that plays with a number of overplayed tropes in a fun and unique way. Viewing the world and the pursuit of progress from an unusual yet intriguing perspective. Once I started reading I had no choice but to binge the story and I’m certain I will be rereading this multiple times in future.

Short, well written, and funny. The story hits with its full irony right away, sprinkling in jabs at generic fantasy in a light and not-so-subtle way, all while not overstaying its welcome and letting the jokes run dry.

Even if I knew nothing of web novels, this would still be one of my favourite fictions of all time.

A must read for sure.

We get to feel the fabric of existence through the eyes of an unblemished being, honourably taking it's very first stumbles down a dark and merciless jungle. Abyssal pits and gargantuan walls tribulations to be learned from, to be prevailed upon, for it's growth shall not be forever thwarted, a growth towards subsequent undeniable immenseness.

I think I found this via a link from another site. Read the first chapter out of interest and didn't stop until it was finished.

It's a fun short story, just 35K words. Something funny to read between longer, more serious stories.

I gave it 5 stars because it made me smile all the way through it, and while reading, I regularly stopped to explain to my wife the funny bits.

She doesn't like the sort of stuff I read, but she put it on her to-read list. It's been a few months since I read this, and she still hasn't read it yet. Very disappointed in her! If only I had a rock or something to throw at her. :-)

Read the entire thing in just a couple of hours. I enjoyed it, and it is nice to find some great shorter novels instead of always reading stories that never end.

I am not sure what else to put here, but I need to get up to 50 words... So I'll just ramble for a bit I guess...

I read this while laughing hysterically, so this review may be slightly biased. HOWEVER! I can say for sure that this story takes a simple premise (a rock falling down a mountain) and executes it wonderfully, by giving the stone access to a LitRPG system. Will the rock accelerate? Will it grow in size? Most likely, both!

All I know is that there will be a trail of devastation and blood left by this rolling boulder, and I'm here for it. As a sidenote, the cover is absolutely amazing, and sets the comedic tone for the story perfectly.

Update:

The above review was posted 7 months ago, back when there was only a single chapter. For all this time I have waited patiently for more, and zechamp has finally delivered!

Catching up to this was a delight, mainly due to how rock-solid the premise was, and how faithfully it's been executed thus far. Specifically, it's extremely funny to me how well plot twists have been implemented, considering this is literally a story about a rock rolling down a mountain.

This is truly a hilarious story, and I await more with great anticipation. Enjoy!

Advanced Review Subcategories :

Style : Clever and sardonic, the prose has really made this work into an engaging masterpiece.

Story : There's a clear goal established from the beginning, and measurable progress is consistently made.

Grammar : Impeccable, I noticed no issues in this area.

Character : Best rock protagonist I have ever seen.🗿

Amazing story, and well worth the read.

Fun and engaging with surprising tension and marvelous world building, all without dragging anything out. Finished at the end, epilogue 2. I love out little stone with all his interesting exploration and life lessons. I was a little nervous toward the end, when things seemed bleak, but the author made a truly satisfying conclusion.

Make a day free. And just read this story that day. You probably need less than a day to finish it. And you will be able to experience the story at once. To truly immerse yourself in this great story. About a rock and his legendary quest. Absolutely recommend reading it

A perfect break from being serious.

Just the right length for a fun read. Doesn’t drag out the gag.

Reading the chapter along with the recommended Gundam OST track was the hardest I’ve ever legit laughed while reading. Just great.

Thanks for the great laugh author, definitely going to go read your other story now! Fifty words.

I was poking around around the non-human lead category and came across this! It's silly and stupid and everything I didn't know I needed. Nice and short so you can just read without the looming commitment of some grand saga. A good "in between book series" kinda story. 10 out of 10, would recommend.
