Being the host
What the host can do, from choosing the rules to pausing the game, and how the role moves between screens.
Who the host is
The screen that set the table is the host. On a table for one, against the house, the host is your phone. A house player is never the host.
If the host’s screen is gone for a minute, the role passes to the first player at the table whose phone is connected, so the game never waits for a screen that is not coming back.
Before the game
On the big screen, the host can:
- choose a way to play, or change single rules, with Change the rules;
- add a house player with Add a house player among the seats;
- remove a seat with the × beside its name;
- turn the sound on with the chip in the corner;
- start the game once there are at least three at the table.
During the game
The host’s corner of the big screen can pause and resume the game, and end it. The reveal moves on by itself, and anyone can tap Next on their phone when they are ready; once everyone has, it moves on sooner.
When the host is on a phone, the same things are in the phone’s menu, the gold stud at the top: start, pause, move the reveal on, end the game, and Remove someone. The menu also names anyone who is holding the table up, and anyone who has stopped responding for two turns in a row.
If the game needs more people
If the table drops below three during a game, the game waits for someone to sit down. The host can bring in a house player, resume once there are enough, or end the game with the scores as they stand.
At the end
Play again, same table deals a new game to the same people. New players sets a fresh table with a new code.
